MEDICAL EXAMINER LINKS DEATH TO VACCINE
BioPort Corp., an anthrax vaccination
manufacturer, and a pathologist on Thursday questioned the ruling of a
medical examiner who linked the death of a BioPort employee to the vaccine
he received. Grand Rapids pathologist Stephen Cohle, who performed the
autopsy on Richard Dunn, 61, ruled Dunn died in July of an inflammation of
the arteries that supply blood to heart. It is unclear whether that
inflammation was caused by the anthrax vaccination, Cohle said. But Ionia
County Chief Medical Examiner Robert Joyce, responsible for recording the
results of the autopsy, attributed the inflammation to the vaccine.
